Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By using LewisLab you agree to these terms. If you are under the age of digital consent in your region, a parent, guardian, or school must authorize your use.
2. The service
LewisLab provides interactive chemistry-education tools: structure generation, an editing canvas, guided learning, resonance and VSEPR exploration, reference material, and classroom management. The service is provided as-is; we work hard on scientific accuracy, but the platform is a learning aid, not a substitute for coursework, instruction, or professional judgment.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. Teachers are responsible for information they enter about their classes. We may lock accounts that show signs of compromise or abuse, and admins may unlock them after review (all such actions are audit-logged).
4. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to breach security, scrape at abusive rates, disrupt other users' classes, impersonate others, or upload unlawful content in free-text fields. Rate limits protect the service for everyone; deliberate circumvention is a violation of these terms.
5. Your content
You own the structures and work you create. You grant us only the license needed to store and display that work back to you (and, for assignment submissions, to your teacher). Aggregated, de-identified learning analytics may be used to improve the platform.
6. Intellectual property
The LewisLab software, design system, chemistry engine, and content were created by Raghav Cherkuri. Scientific facts belong to everyone; this particular expression of them belongs to its creator.
7. Termination & changes
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may update these terms as the platform evolves; material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LewisLab is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
